Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone's face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come. - Henri Nouwen

Just now I was musing about planting a Terrace Garden. You can also see its advantages. It should not be considered a Luxury but as mandatory.
Question: What are Green Roofs?
Answer: Basically, green roofs (also called “eco-roofs” or “planted roofs”) are rooftop gardens, parks or meadows that carry a host of environmental and economic benefits. By using soil and plants on rooftops in place of hard, impenetrable roofing materials, city governments, developers or individual homeowners can:
- Double or triple the life of the roof
- Add insulation to the building
- Reduce stormwater runoff
- Cool the surrounding air and lessen the heat-island effect in urban areas
- Reduce air pollution
- Capture carbon dioxide to help reduce global warming
- Mitigate noise and glare
- Create new habitat for birds and other wildlife
Why.........
Why is it is so? I think about penning down my thoughts (musings as I call them), words just fail me. It becomes the passing thought. I become perturbed when I see and listen to People's problems.
I was thinking of opening a training Centre for poor women, where the Girls and their mothers can learn the Basic skills to run efficiently their households. In today's rat race to make ends meet in this glittering world, these people have to forget their first priority i.e., towards their homes. Their are so many distractions which are adding to the chaos. Advertisements, Serials, Pictures, Religious Gurus, TV Pandits, Alcohol, Chewing Powders, Supari and the News channels ofcourse. People specially, uneducated/ illiterate, are running after all these as if they can cure their woes. None of these could cure me of my problems. I have tried each one of them. I can only feel sorry for people like me.
Maybe I am depressed as some tell me. Because if i want to join the Fun, then also people stare as if I have gone mad or something. Maybe some day, I'd make that change which I often wish but is not in a capacity to do so.

A Great Thought
Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.... You don't have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Thank You GOD
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My duty toward god was now done
My soul could rest at ease.
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of God to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"

Paradox
The Paradox of Our Age...
v We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.
v We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; more degrees, but less common sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.
v We spend too recklessly, laugh too little; drive too fast, get too angry too quickly; stay up too late, get up too tired; read too seldom, watch TV too much, and ray too seldom.
v We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom and lie too often.
v We've learned how to make a living, but not a life; added years to life, not life to years.
v We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We've conquered outer space, but not inner space; we've done larger things, but not better things; we've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul; we've split the atom, but not our prejudice; we write more, but learn less; plan more, but accomplish less.
v We've learned to rush, but not to wait; we have higher incomes, but lower morals; more food but less appeasement; more acquaintances, but fewer friends; more effort but less success.
v We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication; we've become long on quantity, but short on quality.
v These are the time of fast foods and slow digestion; tall men and short character; steep profits, and shallow relationships.
v These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure and less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.
v These are days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes.
v These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one-night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to ill.
v It is a time when there is much in the show window, and nothing in the stockroom.
Indeed it's all true. Think about it...read it again.

Television
Television has become such an important means of entertainment that one cannot live without it. Please write your comments on its programs and News Channels. By the way did you see Rann? It truly portrays the milieu of News Channels and their race for TRPs and viewership. I liked the movie very much.
